0321:Reconnaissance Man

Marine reconnaissance men are elite warfighters that are training in reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and unique fighting skills that may be considered unconventional. They are dedicated and hardworking Marines who deploy with a small team to remote areas in support of the mission of the Marine Corps.

Military Duties:

They train regularly with weapons, squad tactics, and keep themselves incredibly fit and ready to go at a moment’s notice. It is expensive to train and equip recon Marines, so the USMC makes sure to utilize these elite warriors as frequently as possible. Recon Marines can be deployed for short periods of time to any number of countries where they may conduct various missions that support the overall mission of the United States military. Additionally, Marines in the 0321 MOS may see lengthy deployments, of 7 or 8 months, to Iraq, Afghanistan, or other theaters of operations.

Military Duties Translated:

ex. Customize and adapt current programs to satisfy users’ needs.Coordinate with network services and information systems groups. Update on status to manager and users through voice mail, email and in-person communication.Connect users to networks and train on facilities and applications. Install, repair and conduct preventive maintenance of personal computer by providing technical support. Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and determine network problems. Diagnose and resolve incidents using documented procedures to perform responsibilities. Workaround if incident cannot be resolved. Configure PCs and laptops, problem ticket resolutions and track problems using Remedy system.
