0313:LAV Crewman

Provides driving and 1st echelon repairs for light armored vehicles. LAV crewmen are usually attached to light armored reconnaissance battalions. Additionally, LAV crewmen may be tasked with operating weapons systems onboard the LAV.

Military Duties:

The Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Marine is part of the Infantry division. Marine Corps LAV Crewmen (MOS 0313) are most skilled in Armored Reconnaissance. A LAV Crewman not only possesses basic infantry skills but also have specialized skills in operating older light armored vehicles as well as surveillance equipment. Therefore, LAV Crewmen support the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) during reconnaissance operations.
