Marine infantry rifleman spend countless hours becoming specialists on various weapons systems, understanding survival techniques, and living in the field for weeks on end. They are the backbone of the Marine Corps and are the image that most people think of when they think of Marines.

Military Duties:

Infantry are required to have impeccable fitness, so a daily workout routine is a mandatory part of any platoon. This can vary from a morning run, long hike, or an intense gym workout. In addition to daily fitness, Marines with the 0311 MOS designation will spend extended periods of time training, cleaning, and maintaining weaponry.

Respond immediately to citizen calls for assistance and to alarms triggered at homes and businesses Maintain a presence in the community that helps to deter crime and provide support to citizens Help to secure crime scenes and ensure that evidence is not removed or tampered with Act as a police presence at public events and provide security for municipal gatherings Identify potential criminal activity or other hazardous situations and take the proper actions to protect citizens and property
